Eastern Mountain Sports to Sponsor Seek the Peak Mount Washington Observatory Fundraiser

Gorham, NH– Eastern Mountain Sports will be a presenting sponsor of Seek the Peak, the largest fundraising event for the Mount Washington Observatory. Every July, participants from across the country and worldwide gather in the White Mountains of New Hampshire individually, with teams, or as sponsors and choose an adventure to raise funds for MWObs, a climate research center located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
“As the Official Retail Outfitter of the Observatory, we look forward to sponsoring this event every summer for some quality time with the hiking community and incredible Observatory team,” says Kerry Muricchio, Head of Merchandising at Eastern Mountain Sports. This year, we’ve partnered again with Cotopaxi to create a limited edition event backpack for fundraisers who reach the $200 threshold. The event’s goal is to reach over $200,000.”
The event Expo will take place on Saturday, July 16th, at 1 Mount Washington Auto Rd., with a Vendor Village from 12-6pm featuring outdoor brands, nonprofits, field experts, and food trucks as well as live music. Starting at 9am there will be a 5k, 10k, 6-hour and 6-hour relay trail races hosted by White Mountain Endurance with raffle prizes provided by EMS (all proceeds benefit the Mount Washington Observatory).

The Mount Washington Observatory (MWObs) is a private, nonprofit, member-supported institution with a mission to advance understanding of the natural systems that create Earth’s weather and climate.
