Eastern Mountain Sports Corporate Team For Alzheimer’s Association 48 Peaks Event

New Hampshire (June 2022)– Eastern Mountain Sports has recently announced its involvement with 48 Peaks, a collective fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day®. Throughout the month of June, teams hike one of New Hampshire’s 48 peaks above 4,000 feet while raising awareness and vital funds to support research and local families affected by Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia.

Eastern Mountain Sports has two teams participating in the event, a corporate team as well as a Manchester, New Hampshire store team. Together, they have raised over $4,300 to date.

“The hiking community is a special group that has really come together all throughout New England to share their stories and join the fight to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia” says Meghan O’Neil, The Longest Day Development Manager of MA/NH. “We have heard countless stories of how important this cause is to each individual whether they are a caregiver currently, have lost a loved one, or are currently battling the disease themselves. We are blown away with how much 48 Peaks has grown this year and are thankful to our new friends like those at EMS and cannot wait to continue to paint the White Mountains purple!"

At the writing of this, the event has surpassed its fundraising goal with $217,866 raised.
